L. Nazette Zuhdi

Leyla Nazette Zuhdi is an accomplished attorney with seventeen (17) years of healthcare, litigation and corporate experience. Nazette is a solutions-focused, motivated attorney with a comprehensive background in healthcare law. Nazette's experience in healthcare law includes administrative and regulatory matters, representing physicians, nurses and pharmacists before the respective licensing boards, STARK and Fraud and Abuse matters, medical staff issues, physician credentialing and peer review, sales and acquisitions of healthcare companies, including hospices and home health, and physician contracts.

Nazette also has experience in litigation where she drafted briefs, discovery and motions in banking, employment, commercial transactions, torts, and contract matters. She has an extensive background in discovery, preparing witnesses and attending hearings and working on corporate transactions, from negotiating to drafting to closing business transactions. Specifically, she has structured, negotiated, and closed several million dollars of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, private placements, project finance, private equity, and real estate transactions. Nazette has also successfully defended physicians and pharmacists before the medical and pharmacy licensure boards, and before hospital review boards on compliance issues. In addition, she successfully defended trademark applications before the USPTO.

Nazette received her Juris Doctor, with Distinction, from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1997. While obtaining her Juris Doctor degree, Nazette also attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and Oxford University in Oxford, England. She then received her LLM in Health Law from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in 1998. At DePaul, she received the Kamensky & Rubenstein Health Law Scholarship.She is admitted to all Oklahoma State Courts, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, and all Texas State Courts.

Nazette is a highly versatile attorney able to assimilate new practice areas and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working under pressure in fast-paced environments. Nazette has a strong reputation for integrity, teamwork, responsiveness, loyalty, and excellent work ethics.

Outside of work, Nazette enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, and son, Zane, and family. She is an avid traveler and has visited six of the seven continents around the world. She is ready to leave on a trip at a moment’s notice and hopes to instill the same love of adventure in her son. When not working, traveling or devoting her time to community service, she relaxes by going to the movies and attending the Thunder games.
